Company Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a £35bn turnover power engineering business in a senior marketing position joining our clients market leading Switchgear and electrical distribution equipment division.

Role Outline

The role will be to define, plan & ensure the implementation of product marketing strategies that are in line with business objectives & global strategies. You’ll need to support the sales team, actively seeking out market information to gain in depth knowledge on existing & new customers enabling you to tap into un-penetrated markets.

To do this you will be required to visit clients in a non sales capacity to understand their business & challenges, to adapt strategies accordingly.

You will be home based spending 1 – 2 weeks a month in the office in Warrington and the rest of your time between home and visiting various clients around the uk

The Person

This role is perfect for someone with an in depth knowledge on the engineering sector specifically on LV Switchgear. My client is looking for someone who’s a strong communicator & leader with a proven track record in implementing new technical marketing strategies that can yield profitable results.

Overall the candidate needs to be outgoing and personable along with having a knowledge of Switchgear as well as experience in a similar role with tenacity and the drive to get stuck in and create a very rewarding future.

Responsibilities will include :

Strategy – Creates plans and ensures implementation of the local market product marketing strategy including definition and communication of the product value propositions and product positioning in accordance with the global product marketing strategy.
Targets – Establishes product marketing targets and budgets. Ensures their achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans when needed.
Business Plans – Develops and implements annual marketing plan in conjunction with the local business unit and product group. Prepares business plans focused on business development for the market.
Analysis – Coordinates market analysis with product marketing team and sales team members and defines appropriate forecasts and plans. Evaluates and shares customer research, market conditions and competitor data.
Sales – Oversees sales execution for electrification products distribution LV products by coordinating the preparation of relevant materials and guidance to sales teams. Responsible for the full LV Switchgear marketing budget.
Training – Drives sales efficiency by ensuring appropriate product knowledge (technical and sales) for each sales person. Ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
Technical – Offers customers technical excellence and leadership.
Quality – In conjunction with the Quality and Service staff, ensure any problems are communicated internally and a plan developed to mitigate impact towards customers and end users.

Requirements

Electrical Qualification preferred ( HNC / HND / Degree )
Knowledge / Experience of Low Voltage Switchgear / Electrification products ESSENTIAL
Exceptional communication & leadership skills.
Marketing / Commercial experience
Creative thinker with commercial focus, good technical understanding and results orientation
Presentation Skills
Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
Positive, outgoing individual, Proven ability to engage clients over the phone and face to face
Need to be driven!
