Operations Manager – £70,000 – £80,000 DOE, Annual bonus, Company Car, Private healthcare, 10% pension contribution – Stoke-on-Trent

Company Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a £35bn turnover power engineering business with over 100 years of engineering heritage in a leadership position which is currently involved in enormous infrastructure projects in the UK.

Role Outline

This position is to manage all operational aspects of my client’s entire project portfolio (mainly high voltage projects). You need to be the sort of person who can drive positive communication with all internal & external stakeholders. Have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time with project values into the millions.


-Act as a leader to create a culture of personal ownership in projects, continuous improvement & motivate staff.
-Manage and deliver local revenues & cash flow in relation to agreed budgets.
-Work closely with multiple internal functions e.g. front end sales, planning, health & safety etc.
-Plan and review resource requirement on a continually basis, holding regular meetings with other project stakeholders & allocate appropriately.
-Lead from the front with regard to ensure health & safety compliance & work closely with the health & safety function to work in line with company policy.
-Contribute to monthly operations management reviews & project reviews.
-Build & develop client relations to help understand customer needs & how to provide client satisfaction.
-Prepare reports & attend client meetings when necessary.



-Substantial management experience in the power/civil industry
-A recognised Health & Safety qualification
-Good people/management skills with a track record of leading high performing teams
-Working knowledge of NEC contracts
-Prior experience of managing a portfolio of projects with full profit & loss responsibility


-Engineering degree in relevant discipline
-Recognised environmental qualifications
