My client is looking for a Bid Manager.
This is a very exciting and unique opportunity. The client sells industrial automation into many different sectors.
You will need to have plenty of experience in a Bid / Tendering environment. You need exceptional communication skills as you will be liaising with lots of different departments to work out how to price each bespoke job to ensure you win the business.
You will be involved from cradle to grave in that you will be there to understand exactly what the client wants to delivering the final Tender.
In between this you will be communicating with an array of different stakeholders from engineers to materials suppliers etc to ensure an accurate Bid.
You will be predominantly based in the office however some engaging with the clients face to face would be needed from time to time.
You will need an electrical background / knowledge as you need to be credible in front of the client.
There is a very good team ethic in the office and the right candidate will need to fit in with that.
Overall the candidate needs to be outgoing and personable along with having an electrical / automation systems knowledge and experience in a similar tendering/ bid role with tenacity and the drive to get stuck in and create a very rewarding future for themselves.
Responsibilities will include :
Tendering for large scale sales.
Manage assigned internal & External resources
Support the commercial manager with reporting and bid prep
Review and approve bid documentation
Execute allocated bids and proposals
Risk review processes
Interact and manage clients expectations.
Guide client through tender stage where needed
Working alongside the Business development dept and Service dept
Deliver great customer service
Interacting with suppliers , both 3rd party & the company in house.
Manage and contribute to the tender process
Reporting back and presenting to internal stakeholders
Engaging clients face to face as well as email etc
ONC / HNC in Electrical engineering
Proven ability to Bid / Tender
Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
A knowledge of transformers in general would be beneficial
Positive outgoing individual
Proven ability to engage clients over the phone and face to face
Need to be driven!
£50,000 – £55,000
