This is an excellent opportunity to join a £35bn turnover power engineering business in a leadership position which is currently involved in enormous infrastructure projects in the UK. With over 100 years of engineering heritage, you’ll join their globally renowned Power Grid Automation division.
The role will be to generate new business selling a vast portfolio of power grid & grid automation products, systems & services. You will be tasked with bringing on new business, building long term profitable relationships & seeking new opportunities. Reporting to the Market Manager, the Automation Solutions Sales Specialist will be responsible for order capture from the projects and accounts assigned and to fulfill or exceed the budget orders target.
Historically our client has worked mainly on National Grid and Network Rail’s business and projects – they are looking to continue these relationships whilst also tapping into the wider industrial automation market. This is an ideal role for a sales professional with experience of selling electrical solutions / services into DNOs, private networks, heavy industrial automation and automation system markets.
Volume & Profit – Sales of power grid & grid automation products/systems/services focusing on volume of sales & profitability targets in line with the ones set by the Marketing Manager.
Customer Relations – Establish & build key relationships to drive sales of products, systems & services, making sure to make customers aware of offerings & effectiveness of product portfolio whilst providing exceptional customer service.
Sales Plan – Prepare viable sales strategies, whilst reviewing the status of said plan providing contingency for an deviations from this.
Marketing – Work with marketing functions to execute efficient marketing activities and communication of value propositions to customers.
Marketing Opportunities – Identify & drive potential new market opportunities in cross collaboration with other business units/functions.
Administration – Manage administration procedures in sales processes to support other business functions i.e. project management & payment collections.
Offer Preparation – Support in the preparation of offers & help coordinate necessary activities.
Power transmission or communications market/industry experience
Industrial Sales Experience
Valid UK Driving License
Commercial & financial acumen
Experience in sales of the Power Systems Protection and Automation portfolio.
Knowledge on relevant products/service & customer
